 Numair Khan IslandStats.com Numair Khan and Dem Salter emerged as the champions at the annual Pembroke Hamilton Club (PHC) 1 Mile Run & Walk, a Good Friday tradition that saw a strong turnout at the club.
Khan powered through the one-mile course to claim the men's title, crossing the finish line in a swift time of 6 minutes and 32 seconds. Coyatito Smith put in a strong effort to finish second, clocking 6:45, while T'syi Showers secured the third spot on the podium with a time of 6:48.
In the female race, Dem Salter was the first woman to complete the course, finishing in an impressive 8 minutes and 4 seconds. Her time also placed her ninth overall in the combined field. Catherine Power was the second female finisher and eleventh overall, clocking 8:30, with Zylah Bean rounding out the female top three, crossing the line as the sixteenth overall runner in 9 minutes and 12 seconds.
The event also celebrated the achievements of young athletes in the school categories. Jaeda Grant was crowned the Senior School Champion with a time of 7 minutes and 51 seconds. Timothy Pearman claimed the Middle School title, completing the mile in 6 minutes and 40 seconds. The Primary School champion was Joshua Cann, who crossed the line in a commendable 7 minutes and 55 seconds.
The PHC 1 Mile Run & Walk continues to be a popular fixture on Good Friday, bringing together athletes of all ages and abilities for a morning of healthy competition and community spirit. The victories of Numair Khan and Dem Salter will undoubtedly be celebrated by the Pembroke Hamilton Club and the wider local running community.
