Snooker Scene Buzzing Across Multiple Competitions

The Bermuda snooker scene was a hive of activity this week, with matches taking place in the Tony DeSilva Memorial Cup, Bermuda Open Singles, and the Snooker League, providing a feast of snooker action for fans.

Tony DeSilva Memorial Cup Delivers Drama

The Tony DeSilva Memorial Cup saw its share of drama and close encounters.

In a Second Round match, Steven Bremar staged a comeback to defeat Richard Burton 2-1. After Burton took the first frame, Bremar won the subsequent two to secure his progression. Bremar is set to face Nadanja Bailey in the Quarter-Finals.

Matt Garrod also came from behind in a Quarter-Final clash, defeating Aaron Bean 2-1. Bean won the first frame, but Garrod responded with two consecutive wins to advance. Garrod will now play the winner of Steven Bremar and Nadanja Bailey in the Semi-Finals.

Todd Dziak secured a 2-0 victory over Zane DeSilva in another Quarter-Final match. Dziak's consistent performance saw him advance to the Semi-Finals, where he will face John Orr.

Bermuda Open SIngles Sees Intense Battles

The Bermuda Open Singles also provided thrilling matches.

Keino Zuill came from behind to win 2-1 against Todd Dziak in a Quarter-Final. Dziak won the first frame, but Zuill fought back to win the next two.

John Orr defeated Paul Fedden 2-0 in another Quarter-Final, setting up a Semi-Final clash with Zuill.

Steven Bremar defeated Chris Dakin 2-0 in a Second Round match, while Tyler Moniz defeated Richard Burton 2-0 in another Second Round encounter. Moniz is now scheduled to face Gary Bascome in the Quarter-Finals.

Snooker League Concludes with Decisive Results

Warwick Workman’s Club Two 4 RAA 1


The Snooker League season reached its climax with crucial matches determining the final standings.

Warwick Workman’s Club Two were crowned league champions despite a 4-1 defeat to fourth-placed RAA. Aaron Bean initially gave RAA the lead, but Warwick leveled through Zane DeSilva.

Henryk Marszalek then put Warwick ahead, before Steven Bremar clinched the match, with a close victory. In the doubles, Bremar/DeSilva secured the league championship for Warwick, completing the league championship win remaining undefeated for the entire season.

Sandys Boat Club 4 Spanish Point Boat Club 1

Paul Fedden opened the scoring for Sandys when he defeated Richard Burton 61-37. Martin Siese made it 2-0 for Sandys, when he defeated Tyler Moniz 42-31

Richie Beale made it 3-0, when he defeated Alan Smith in the first of their 2 games together, 58-36, Smith got Spanish Point on the board, when he defeated Beale 61-47 in their 2nd game together

The Doubles match saw Siese/Fedden completed the win for Sandys when they defeated Moniz/Burton 59-16.

Warwick Workman’s Club One 3 Spanish Point Boat Club One 2

Gary Bascome gave an early lead to Warwick, when he defeated Alex Hooper 65-24 in the 1st game. Todd Dziak equalised for Point in the next however, beating Pamela Quadroy 57-37 in the 1st of their 2 frames together

The doubles was played next and saw Warwick duo Smith/Bascome defeat Hooper/Greenslade 81-24

Winslow Smith extended the lead for Warwick in the next game, overcoming Stewart Greenslade 70-12. Todd Dziak pulled one back for Spanish Point when he saw off Pamela Quadroy in the 2nd of their 2 games together, 44-6.
