Bermuda Open, DeSilva Memorial & Warwick Dominates League

The Bermuda Open Singles saw early drama and decisive victories, while Warwick Workman's Club Two secured a commanding lead in the league standings.


Bermuda Open Singles Round 1

Todd Dziak delivered a convincing performance, defeating Zane DeSilva 2-0 with scores of 57-37 and 45-29. Dziak now advances to face Pamela Quadroy in Round 2.

In a thrilling comeback, Aaron Bean overcame Nadanja Bailey 2-1. Bailey took the first game 65-37, but Bean rallied to win the second 41-28 and clinched the match with a 66-23 victory in the third. Bean will now face the winner of Steven Bremar vs Chris Dakin in Round 2.

Bermuda Open Singles Round 2

Paul Fedden secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Stephen Tucker (58-35, 54-22) and will now face John Orr in the Quarter-Finals.

Henryk Marszalek also advanced with a 2-0 win over Mark Iris (60-27, 52-26). His Quarter-Final opponent is yet to be determined.

John Orr defeated Martin Siese 2-0 in two close black ball games (48-40, 53-46) and will face Fedden in the Quarter-Finals.

Gary Bascome cruised to a 2-0 victory over Jimmy McGill (55-22, 69-22) and will now play the winner of Tyler Moniz vs Richard Burton.

Tony DeSilva Memorial Cup Round 2


Nadanja Bailey defeated Aaron Burrows 2-0 (49-19, 66-42) and will face the winner of Steven Bremar vs Richard Burton in the Quarter-Finals.

Zane DeSilva edged out Chris Dakin 2-1. DeSilva won the first game 69-34, Dakin levelled the match with a 55-47 victory in the second, but DeSilva closed it out 64-38 in the third. He will now face Todd Dziak in the Quarter-Finals.

League

RAA3 Spanish Point Boat Club Two 2


Keino Zuill got RAA off to a flying start when he overcame Tyler Moniz in the 1st of their 2 games together, 49-20.

Kyle Williams made it 2 - 0 for RAA when he defeated Alan Smith in a convincing win, 78-22.

Spanish Point got one back in the next match, when Richard Burton overcame Kenya Trott, 60-23.

The 4th game saw Moniz level the game for Spanish Point, defeating Zuill 57-24 in the 2nd of their 2 games together.

With it all to play for at the doubles, it was RAA duo of Bean, and Williams who clinched victory, defeating Burton, and Smith 55-39

Warwick Workman’s Club Two 5 Spanish Point Boat Club One 0

Henryk Marszalek gave Warwick an early lead, when he defeated Stewart Greenslade 64-17 in the 1st of their 2 games together.

Steven Bremar extended the lead for Warwick, when he edged Todd Dziak 51-48 in the 2nd game.

It was 3 for Warwick, when Henryk Marszalek defeated Greenslade for the 2nd time, 92-15.

Zane DeSilva made it 4 for Warwick, defeating Alex Hooper 48-36

Warwick duo Bremar, and DeSIlva completed the whitewash when they defeated Hooper, and Dziak 56-42 in the doubles.

This clean sweep by Warwick gives them a virtually unassailable lead in the league championship, all but guaranteeing them a 2nd successive league win.
