A thrilling night of Bermuda Ball Hockey at the PCC Hockey Rink produced a total of 19 goals across a double header, with Spine & Sport edging Positive Image Dental in a close contest, and Appleby dominating Frontier in the later game.
Spine & Sport 4 Positive Image Dental 3
The opening match saw Spine & Sport narrowly defeat Positive Image Dental 4-3 in a tightly contested affair.
The first period saw both teams trade goals. Kyle Harvey put Spine & Sport ahead, but Positive Image Dental quickly responded through Craig Rowat, ensuring the period ended with a 1-1 tie.
In the second period, Spine & Sport regained the lead with a goal from Ryan Marshall. However, Rowat once again proved to be a thorn in Spine & Sport's side, equalizing for Positive Image Dental for the second time in the game.
Positive Image Dental took the lead for the first time in the third period, with Rowat completing an impressive hat-trick. But Spine & Sport showed their resilience, with Jeremy Estey scoring a crucial goal to level the score. Marshall then added his second goal of the night, securing the win for Spine & Sport.
Appleby 10 Frontier 2
The second game of the night was a more one-sided affair, with Appleby delivering a dominant performance to defeat Frontier 10-2.
Appleby started slowly, scoring only once in the first period through Jordan Gunter.
However, Appleby's offense exploded in the second period, scoring five goals. Shakey McKay scored two, while Israel Guzman, Nathan Ische, and Adrien Faucher each added a goal. Frontier managed to get on the scoreboard in this period, with James Amaral finding the back of the net.
Appleby continued their offensive onslaught in the third and final period, outscoring Frontier 4-1. Gunter completed his hat-trick with two more goals, while McKay also completed his hat-trick, and Chris Merritt added another goal for Appleby. Amaral scored his second goal of the game for Frontier, but it was not enough to prevent a convincing victory for Appleby.
