The Flora Duffy South Field Stadium at the National Sports Center was abuzz with excitement as young athletes took to the track for the annual Skyport Magic Mile. Timothy Pearman and Elena Bortoli emerged as the champions in the 12-15 Boys and Girls race, showcasing their speed and endurance.
Pearman clocked an impressive time of 5:25.28 to secure the victory, followed by Legend McIntosh in second place with a time of 5:30.79. Hasim Ming rounded out the top three, finishing in 5:30.82.
Bortoli claimed the girls' title with a time of 5:58.76, finishing fifth overall. Harper Franklin secured second place among the girls and ninth overall with a time of 6:17.27. Daley Outerbridge completed the girls' podium, finishing tenth overall in 6:26.34.
Youngsters Shine in Age Group Races
The younger age groups also produced exciting races and impressive performances.
In the 4-Year-Old Girls division, Yannis Deshields took the top spot with a time of 2:02.10, followed by Amai Caisey (2:11.65) and Rickiyah Saltus (2:12.92).
The 4-Year-Old Boys race saw Leo Butterworth claim victory in 2:05.80, with Thomas Cooper (2:09.33) and Kailo Young (2:09.54) close behind.
Sloane Outerbridge won the 5-Year-Old Girls race in 1:48.44, while Domenic Bent took the boys' title in 1:45.19.
Other notable winners included Raelyn Robinson (6-Year-Old Girls), Koa Bean (6-Year-Old Boys), Vivienne Fox (7-Year-Old Girls), Carter Anderson (7-Year-Old Boys), Kamari Brooks-Gibbons (8-9 Year-Old Girls), Conor Kane (8-9 Year-Old Boys), Evelyn Fahy (10-11 Year-Old Girls), and Khaleef Daley (10-11 Year-Old Boys).
The Skyport Magic Mile provided a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to showcase their talent and compete in a fun and exciting environment. The event continues to be a popular fixture on the Bermuda sporting calendar, inspiring the next generation of runners.
