Another action-packed double-header unfolded in the Bermuda Winter League Ball Hockey at the PCC Hockey Rink, with 15 goals scored across two exciting matches.
Frontier 4 ACT 3
The opening game was a nail-biter, with Frontier eventually edging out ACT 4-3 after a dramatic shootout. Greg Vandermade scored the decisive goal in the shootout to secure the win for Frontier.
Frontier took the lead in the first period through Johny Talbot. Talbot then doubled the advantage in the second period before ACT mounted a comeback. Jake Fenske scored twice, and Townie Jackson added another to give ACT a 3-2 lead. However, Talbot completed his hat-trick to tie the game before the end of the second period.
With neither team able to find a winner in the third period, the game went to a shootout, where Vandermade's heroics sealed the victory for Frontier.
BDA Spirits 0 Appleby 8
The second game of the night saw a dominant performance from Appleby, who shut out BDA Spirits 8-0. Appleby raced to a 3-0 lead in the first period with goals from Nathan Ische, Rob Osborne, and Jeff Morash.
They continued their scoring spree in the second period, with Max Boivin, Ische, and Chris Merritt all finding the net to extend the lead to 6-0.
Ische then added two more goals in the third period to complete a four-goal haul and secure a comprehensive 8-0 victory for Appleby.
