Frontier & Appleby Stage Comebacks in Ball Hockey Double-Header
The PCC Hockey Rink was the scene of two thrilling come-from-behind victories in the Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League, with both matches ending in 5-3 scorelines.
Positive Image Dental 3 Frontier 5
In the opening game, Frontier rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Positive Image Dental 5-3. Positive Image Dental took the lead in the first period through Sam Viera.
Nathan Kowalski doubled Positive Image Dental's advantage in the second period, but Frontier pulled a goal back through Johny Talbot.
Talbot levelled the score at 2-2 with his second goal early in the third period. Positive Image Dental briefly regained the lead with Viera's second goal, but Frontier then took control, scoring three unanswered goals through John Duda, Luke Stirling, and James Amaral to secure the win.
ACT 3 Appleby 5
The nightcap saw Appleby mount two comebacks to defeat ACT 5-3. ACT took a 1-0 lead in the first period thanks to a Mike Travis strike, but Appleby equalized through Nathan Ische.
ACT went ahead again in the second period with a goal from Colin Long, but Appleby once again levelled the score, this time through Jeff Morash.
The third period saw a flurry of goals. Ische scored his second of the game to give Appleby a 3-2 lead, but Travis responded with his second goal to tie the game at 3-3. Appleby then took the lead for good with a goal from Adrien Faucher, and Ische completed his hat-trick to seal a 5-3 victory for Appleby.
