Sheffield hosted the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Indoor Nationals 2025, welcoming over 4,300 student-athletes, including Bermudians Nirobi Smith-Mills and Jake Brislane, who competed for national honours.
Smith-Mills, representing Notts/Nottingham Trent University, had a strong start in the Men's 800m, winning his heat with a season's best time of 1:55.05 to secure a place in the Semi-Finals.
Brislane, competing for Tonbridge/Warwick University, narrowly missed out on a spot in the Men's 3000m Final. He finished fourth in his heat, but his time of 8:33.73 was a new personal best.
In the 800m Semi-Finals, Smith-Mills again impressed, setting another season's best time of 1:50.87. However, a third-place finish in his heat meant he narrowly missed out on a place in the final.
Despite this, both Smith-Mills and Brislane can be proud of their performances at this prestigious national event.
