Butterfield & Vallis is set to host its annual 5K charity run on Sunday, January 26th, at their Woodlands Road location.
This year's race will benefit Dementia Bermuda, formerly known as Action on Alzheimer's and Dementia, with all proceeds going towards their vital work supporting individuals and families affected by dementia in Bermuda.
The event kicks off at 8:00 AM with a 1K race for Lower Primary students. At 8:30 AM, the Upper Primary and Middle School students will take on a 2.7K route, followed by the Senior School students and adults who will embark on the 5K run and walk at 9:30 AM.
To encourage participation and school spirit, a $500 prize will be awarded to the school with the most entries in each category. There will also be exciting draw prizes for participants, as well as prizes for the race winners in each category.
Dementia Bermuda volunteers will be on hand to assist with number pick-up, marshal the course, and man the water stops. The Bermuda Red Cross will also be present to ensure safety throughout the event.
Number pick-up will take place on Saturday, January 25th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The first 900 participants who pick up their numbers will receive a B&V 5K shirt and a goodie bag filled with products from various Butterfield & Vallis brands.
Butterfield & Vallis extends their gratitude to the sponsoring brands: Axe, Carolina Rice, Coca-Cola, Folgers, Jif, KraftHeinz, DelMonte, Pepperidge Farm, Planters, Powerade, Nature Valley, Pure Green, Danone, and Beep.
After the race, participants can enjoy post-race refreshments and snacks. A new feature this year is the Coca-Cola Cool Down Corner, where runners can relax and rehydrate after completing the race.
