Bermudian golfers Oliver Betschart and Jarryd Dillas are set to tee off at the prestigious Latin America Amateur Championship (LAAC) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The tournament, taking place at Pilar Golf Club, begins on Thursday, January 16th, with both Betschart and Dillas eager to make their mark on the international stage.
Dillas will be first off the tee for Bermuda, starting his round on the 10th hole at 1:06 pm. He will be playing alongside Juan Fernando Castellanos from El Salvador and Pablo Lacayo from Nicaragua.
Betschart will begin his campaign on the first hole at 1:28 pm, grouped with Gabriel Palacios from Guatemala and Joseph Sibilly Jr. from the US Virgin Islands.
The LAAC offers a significant opportunity for amateur golfers in Latin America and the Caribbean. The winner receives an invitation to The Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club, The 151st Open at Royal Liverpool, and The Amateur Championship. They also gain exemptions into the final stages of qualifying for the US Open Championship and The Open Championship.
Both Betschart and Dillas will be aiming to showcase their skills and challenge for the title against a strong field of competitors. Their participation in this prestigious event highlights the growing strength of golf in Bermuda and their potential to compete at the highest level.
