Philip Woollins and Teresa Ruiz braved the blustery conditions to claim victory in the Goslings and Hamilton Princess "Rum to the Beach" race.
A total of 126 runners took on the challenging course, which started in Hamilton and finished at the Hamilton Princess Beach Club in Southampton. Despite the windy and showery weather, participants showcased their determination and resilience as they navigated the scenic route.
Woollins emerged as the men's champion, crossing the line in a winning time of 43:33. Will Green finished close behind in second place with a time of 43:54, while Tim Price secured third place in 44:49.
Ruiz dominated the women's race, finishing 11th overall with an impressive time of 49:12. Stepanka Sprincova claimed second place among the women and 15th overall in 50:38, while Rose-Anna Hoey rounded out the women's podium in third place and 19th overall with a time of 52:09.
The "Rum to the Beach" race provided an invigorating start to the new year for Bermuda's running community. Despite the challenging weather, the event showcased the spirit and camaraderie of the island's athletes. Congratulations to all the participants who braved the elements to complete this iconic race.
