Bermudian golfer Oliver Betschart concluded his Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Tournament Third Round with a solid 1-over par 72, finishing the day in fifth-place.
Despite a Third Round that saw fluctuating fortunes, Betschart demonstrated composure and skill on the challenging Biltmore Golf Course in Florida. He started strongly, carding a Birdie on the first hole for a third time in the tournament, followed by another Birdie on the fourth to move to 2-under par. A string of pars saw him make the turn at 2-under, well-placed on the leaderboard.
The back nine proved more challenging, with Bogeys on the tenth and fourteenth holes bringing him back to even par. A Birdie on the fifteenth offered a glimmer of hope, but back-to-back Bogeys to close out his round saw him finish at 1-over for the day.
This result left Betschart eleven strokes behind the leader, Lorenzo Rodriguez.
This potential top-five finish at such a prestigious junior tournament will undoubtedly boost Betschart's confidence as he continues his development in the world of golf.
