Thomas College Athletics enjoyed a memorable fall season, achieving unprecedented success across various sports. Contributing significantly to this success was the men's soccer program, boasting a roster that includes seven Bermudian footballers: Tre Burgess, Stefan Simmons, Shane Robinson, Joshua Joseph, Cody Robinson, Adio DeShield-Tankard, and Isaiah Francis.
The Thomas men's soccer team produced one of their best seasons in program history, finishing with an impressive 13-2-4 overall record and an undefeated 8-0-2 record in conference play. Their dominant performance culminated in a 2-0 victory over SUNY Delhi in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship final, securing their place in the 2024 Division III Men's Soccer National Tournament.
Despite a valiant effort, their national tournament run was cut short by a defeat to #17 ranked Buffalo State. However, the team celebrated several memorable moments throughout the season, including a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Maine Maritime Academy in the NAC East Division final and their triumphant NAC Championship win.
Thomas' success was reflected in the numerous postseason awards bestowed upon their players. Joseph, a key figure in the team's midfield, was named NAC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. He also earned a place on the NAC All-Conference First Team and the NAC All-Tournament Team.
Cody Robinson was recognized for his sportsmanship and contributions to the team, earning a spot on the NAC All-Conference Sportsmanship Team and the NAC All-Tournament Team.
This season also marked the end of an era for three Bermudian seniors: Stefan Simmons, Shane Robinson, and Joseph. Their contributions to the program will be fondly remembered as they graduate and embark on new chapters in their lives.
With a talented young roster, including several promising Bermudian players, Thomas College men's soccer is poised for continued success. They will look to build on their achievements this season and continue to make their mark on the national stage.
