The Flora Duffy South Field Stadium at the National Sports Center played host to the Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge Butterfield Mile Trials, with athletes vying for a coveted spot in the Front Street Mile on 17th January 2025.
The top 20 runners from each division secured their place in the prestigious road race, and the competition was fierce across all categories.
Jake Smith emerged victorious in the Boys 14-17 division, crossing the line in a time of 4:36.88. Ollie Hayward (4:55.79) and Dylan Eiselt (4:56.88) secured the remaining podium positions.
Carina Bortoli dominated the Girls 14-17 race, clocking an impressive 5:51.62. Amaris Munya (5:53.85) finished in second place, with Jaeda Grant (6:04.41) rounding out the top three.
Maia Hardman led the way in the Women's 18+ division, setting the fastest time of the day with a 5:27.32 finish. Christine Dailey (5:30.87) and Megan Berry (5:34.92) followed closely behind.
Adam Prunty claimed victory in the Men's 18+ race, clocking a winning time of 4:49.78. Colin Long (5:04.16) and Philippe Froncioni (5:04.73) battled it out for second and third place respectively.
The Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge Butterfield Mile Trials provided a thrilling spectacle of athleticism and determination. With the qualifiers now decided, anticipation is building for the Front Street Mile, where these talented athletes will test themselves against the best on the iconic course.
