Bermuda's top runners took on the challenging terrain of the Government House Grounds for the Bermuda National Athletics Association's National Cross Country Championships, with David Lunn and Gayle Lindsay emerging as champions in the 19-39 Age Group.
Governor Rena Lalgie welcomed the competitors to the scenic course, setting the stage for a thrilling day of racing. Runners battled hills, twists, and turns, pushing themselves to the limit in pursuit of national glory.
Lunn dominated the Men's 3 Mile race, crossing the finish line in a time of 20:35.00. His impressive performance earned him the title of National Champion in the 19-39 Men’s Division.
In the Women's 19-39 Division, Gayle Lindsay proved to be the runner to beat. She conquered the challenging 3-mile course in a winning time of 19:42.11, showcasing her strength and endurance.
The 40-49 Age Group saw John Thompson and Dem Salter claim victory in the Men's and Women's 3 Mile races, respectively. Thompson clocked a winning time of 22:57.00, while Salter crossed the finish line in 24:40.62.
With challenging courses, impressive performances, and a picturesque setting, the Bermuda National Cross Country Championships were a resounding success.
