The Bermuda Olympic Association (BOA) is set to hold its General Assembly Meeting on December 4th, 2024, at the National Sports Center Cricket Pavilion. But this is no ordinary meeting – it's election time! And the race for the BOA Presidency is shaping up to be a thrilling contest.
Sources tell www.islandstats.com that the incumbent President, Peter Dunne, will face a challenge from Olympian Katura Horton-Perinchief.
Dunne, a prominent figure in the Bermuda sports administration, is seeking a second term at the helm. He currently serves as President of the Bermuda Bicycle Association and holds a position on the Caribbean Cycling Union Board. His leadership experience and deep involvement in sports administration make him a formidable candidate.
But Horton-Perinchief brings her own impressive credentials to the table. A former Olympic diver who competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics, she has been a member of the Olympic Committee since 2016. Her experience on the Pan Am Sport Technical Commission and the Commonwealth Games Advisory Committee further strengthens her bid for the presidency.
This election promises to be a clash of titans, with both candidates possessing the passion and expertise to lead the BOA into the future.
Here's a breakdown of the nominees:
President (2025-2028):
Peter Dunne Katura Horton-Perinchief
Treasurer (2025-2028):
Julia Hawley
Executive Board Member (2025-2028):
