Lindsay Dominates PartnerRe 5K, Inspiring a Sea of Pink

One week after the men of Bermuda took to the streets for the AXA XL Man on the Run 5K, it was the ladies' turn to shine! A sea of pink flooded the course as hundreds of women participated in the 27th annual PartnerRe Women's 5K Run & Walk, a powerful event raising funds for vital men's health programs at the Bermuda Cancer and Health Center.
Gayle Lindsay, the reigning queen of the Bermuda Half-Marathon Derby, proved her speed and endurance once again, claiming victory in a blistering time of 18:46. Lindsay, known for her powerful stride and unwavering determination, left the competition in her wake, crossing the finish line with a triumphant smile.
Christine Dailey, the 2023 PartnerRe Women's 5K champion, put up a valiant fight but ultimately settled for second place in 19:09. Megan Berry rounded out the podium with a strong performance, clocking a time of 19:32.
The race wasn't just about the elite runners; it was a celebration of women's health and empowerment. Participants of all ages and abilities came together, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and support. Eleven-year-old Naomi MacGuinness turned heads with an impressive fourth-place finish in 19:56, proving that age is no barrier to achieving great things.
The event also featured a 2K run for girls aged 7-14, with Riana Robinson taking the top spot in a speedy 6:26. Colette Durkin finished a close second in the same time, while Evelyn Fahy secured third place in 6:37.
The PartnerRe Women's 5K was more than just a race; it was a testament to the power of community and the unwavering spirit of women supporting a worthy cause.
