Julia Agostinelli led the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's cross country team with a 15th-place finish at the 2024 U SPORTS Cross Country Championships in Kelowna, B.C.
Liana De Medeiros and her University of Toronto Women teammates finished 12th overall in the team standings with 301 points. The Western Mustangs captured the national title with a score of 60 points, followed by the University of British Columbia (85) and the University of Victoria (94).
Agostinelli completed the challenging course with a time of 27:44, highlighting her strong performance amongst a competitive field of 126 runners.
Other notable performances for the University of Toronto included Sarah Luedke (62nd, 29:04), Sophie Levasseur (89th, 29:50), De Medeiros (95th, 29:59), and Samantha MacDonald (103rd, 30:13).
Despite finishing outside the top 10 in the team standings, the University of Toronto demonstrated individual successes and valuable experience gained at the national championship level.
