The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) announced the Senior Men’s National Team selection for the upcoming 2024 CONCACAF Nations League (CNL) 4.0 November window.
The Dominican Republic sits at the top of Group D with 12 points and will host the final stretch at Estadio Cibao FC in Santo Domingo.
Bermuda is in second place with nine points and needs a win over Antigua and Barbuda on Saturday November 16th to set up a potential winner-take-all scenario with the Dominican Republic on Tuesday November 19th.
Coach Michael Findlay expressed his thoughts about the team’s recent success and upcoming challenges: “Building on our strong October performance and achieving our goal of securing six (6) points, we're excited to carry this momentum into the final matches. Our focus remains on qualifying for the 2025 Gold Cup, and we believe we're well-positioned to achieve this goal.”
He continued, “As we have told the players, the success and growth of the national team continues to be an ongoing process on and off the field, and we must continue to focus on all aspects of our performance. We must arrive ready to put the final pieces in the puzzle together, which only comes with getting the required results we can deliver.”
“We're pleased to have D’jair Parfitt, Remy Coddington, and Jahquil Hill rejoin the squad following their recent absence due to club commitments and in Hill’s case, with the absence of Dale Eve, the opportunity has presented itself to return to the national team. We are also pleased to have David Jones and Julian Carpenter join the national team for the 1st time since I was appointed in August 2023. Including these international and domestic-based players demonstrates the continued expansion and depth of our talent pool as we continue to address the ongoing challenges of player availability in the CONCACAF region because of injuries, work commitments and professional club commitments”, said Findlay.
Findlay continued, “In the case of Kole Hall and J’Nai Butterfield-Steede, their selection has been affected by recent injury and has eliminated them after featuring as consistent selections. In the case of Dale Eve and Jai Bean, personal circumstances have unfortunately also eliminated them from inclusion in the November window.
This once again highlights the challenges member associations within the CONCACAF region must manage on the international stage, and this is why a continued commitment to ongoing evaluation and player identification is a critical piece to our program’s evolution moving forward,” concluded Coach Findlay.
