IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Olympic Association’s (BOA) Gender Diversity & Inclusion Committee’s Weekend Celebration of Women in Sport: Inspiring, Honoring, and Leading the Way.

A Press Release states: As we approach the BOA Gender Diversity & Inclusion Committee’s highly anticipated weekend dedicated to celebrating and honoring women in sport, we’re excited to share an update on the upcoming events. This landmark weekend will kick off with a special Young Girl’s Symposium on Friday, November 8th, at 6:00 pm at HSBC Front Street, followed by the prestigious Women in Sport Leadership (WISL) Awards on Sunday, November 10th, at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI).

Young Girl’s Symposium: “Retaining Young Girls in Sport”

The Young Girl’s Symposium aims to encourage girls aged 11 to 17 to embrace sports as part of their lives and stay engaged for the long term. The event will feature a panel of eight accomplished athletes who will share their unique stories and experiences. This inspiring lineup includes:

• Natasha Trott (Football)
• Caitlyn Bobb (Athletics)
• Emma Harvey, Olympian (Aquatics)
• Adriana Penruddocke, Olympian (Sailing)
• Jessica Lewis, Paralympian (Athletics)
• Erica Hawley, Olympian (Triathlon)
• Yushae Desilva-Andrade, Paralympian (Boccia)
• Jaden Masters (Football)

Elite cyclist, Caitlin Conyers will facilitate the Symposium, and attendees will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with these female role models. We believe this event will inspire the next generation of Bermuda’s female Olympians and Paralympians.

RSVP by November 6th at admin@olympics.bm to reserve a spot.

The Women in Sport Leadership (WISL) Awards are set to be a night of elegance, honor, and celebration, with attendees encouraged to dress in black-tie attire. We are excited to recognize and celebrate Bermuda’s unsung heroes who have made exceptional contributions to sports.
