The Bermuda Golf Association (BGA) announced the team schedule to compete in the prestigious Caribbean Golf Association Four-Ball Championships at the Plantation Golf Course in Tobago, Trinidad & Tobago.
This marks the first time Bermuda has participated in the CGA Four-Ball Team Championships, following its successful debut in the CGA Junior Championships earlier this summer.
Bermuda Representatives:
• Mid-Amateur Division (35+) (1989-1975): Eric West, Jonathan James • Senior Division (50+) (1974-1965): Mark Ray, Roger Brangman • Super Senior Division (60+) (1964-1955): Geoffrey Piggott, Christopher Phillips • Team Manager: Darrin Lewis
The team will be led by Darrin Lewis, the BGA's General Secretary, as they aim to represent Bermuda with pride on the regional stage.
BGA President Craig Brown shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, “We received confirmation of the team entry requirements for this event quite late, despite the short timeline and logistical challenges we are excited to enter a team in various divisions. Thanks to the hard work by Darrin Lewis and industry partners, we were able to select a team that reflects the broad demographic of our membership, and demonstrates golf is a lifelong sport.
Unfortunately, despite our efforts, this year we were unable to field a women's team, and there is no doubt next year we will fulfill the women's entry. The BGA recently joined the CGA as part of our strategic vision to provide our membership and Bermudian golfers opportunities to compete at a high level against our Caribbean counterparts.
Our entry is made possible by funding and support from the Government of Bermuda, Sports Matters Policy and the Sport Investment Program."
