The College Sports Communicators announced its selections for the Academic All-District team for Track & Field and Cross Country. The Clayton State University Track & Field and Cross Country teams saw three athletes placed on this list, including Sancho Smith.
Smith, was selected as CSC Academic All-District selections for the first time in his career. Earlier this year, Smith was honored as Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Team of Academic Distinction selections.
Smith, had a solid season for Clayton State University . Smith was a part of the 4x400 meter Relay team that won the Outdoor PBC crown with a time of 3:17.35. At the same meet, Smith finished sixth overall in the 800m run with a career best time of 1:53.34, which currently is fifth all-time in program history.
In the indoor season, Smith broke his school record in the 600m run with a time of 1:22.23 at the KMS Invitational.
