Camiko Smith has once again qualified for the PGA Butterfield Bermuda Championship, after winning the Butterfield Bermuda Championship Local Qualifier at the Port Royal Golf Course.
Along with Smith were Eric West, and Nicholas Jones who won a dramatic 5th Hole Sudden-Death Play-Off win over Adam Perry.
Smith took a four stroke lead into the Second Round and shot a 2-over par 73 to finish at 1-under par, Smith’s round consisted of an Eagle, a Birdie, 11 Pars and 5 Bogey’s.
Former professional golfer Eric West shot the best round of the day a 3-under par 68 to finish 2nd at Even Par. West shot 4 Birdies, 13 Pars, and 1 Bogey in his Second Round.
There was a tie for third between Adam Perry, and Nicholas Jones at 2-over, Perry shot his second round of 1-over par, while Jones shot a Second Round 3-under par 69.
A Play-off was held between Perry, and Jones, with Jones winning, on the 5th Playoff Hole. Jones hit a shot from the fairway sand trap to a few inches and made Birdie, while Perry almost chipped in for Birdie but made Par.
Jones in his Final Round had 4 Birdies, 12 Pars, and 2 Bogey’s.
Perry, Quinton Sherlock and Scott Roy captured the 3 Invitations to the APGA Tournament that will be held at the Port Royal Golf Course on December 2nd - 4th, 2024.
