Nineteen weeks since the final whistle sounded on the 2023/24 season, the new National League Rugby campaign kicked off for Jamin Hodgkins, and his Luctonians Rugby Football Club teammates as they headed to Hinckley Rugby Football Club.
Hodgkins and his teammates would start the season with a win, with Hogdkins scoring 15 points, which included 3 Penalties, and 3 Conversions.
The home team were first on the board with an unconverted Try, to lead 5 – 0, but Hodgkins converted a Penalty to make the score 5 – 3.
Hinckley respond with a converted Penalty to go ahead 8 – 3, they would increase their lead with a second converted Penalty to take an 11 – 3 lead to the break.
In the second half, Luctonians would get a Try from James Mear and Converted by Hodgkins to make it 11 – 10, the Luctonians would jump ahead 17 – 11 when they got a Try from Conor Geraghty and converted by Hodgkins. The hosts narrow the gap with a third Converted Penalty, before the home team kick their fourth Penalty, to level the score at 17 – 17.
Hodgkins puts Luctonians back in front with a converted Penalty, making it 20 – 17, and then Luctonians would extend their lead to 27 – 17 as they got a Try from Jack Park and it was Converted by Hodgkins.
