The heat was cranking up and rivals were thinning out over the closing stages of the 10km run to the medals in the first-ever Samarkand World Cup which assumed huge significance for many of the Men, and Women, as both Erica Hawley and Tyler Smith competed.
Both competed on a standard-distance course of 1,500 meters Swim, 37.5km Bike, and 10k Run Course.
Hawley, finished 13th in the Elite Women’s race clocking a time of 1:55:37.
Hawley was clocked at 20:07 during the Swim, 57:03 on the Bike Course, and 37:04 on the Run Course.
Smith finished 26th in the Men’s Elite race clocking 1:45:47.
Smith completed the Swim in 18:29, he would then clock a time of 52.26 on the Bike, before completing the Run in 33:50.
Hawley posted on social media, “Some real positives to take away from the race and it’s slowly piecing together. Week 6 on the road and 1 more race to go.”
