Lamont Marshall and Gayle Lindsay were crowned the Bermuda Healthcare Sir Stanley Burgess 5K Male and Female Champions.
Both winners were awarded $1,250.00 each for being the first to cross the finish line in their respective divisions.
Marshall had a commanding performance clocking a time of 15:28. Sean Trott was second in 16:41, and Adam Prunty was third in 16:48.
Lindsay clocked a winning time of 18:13 finishing 7th overall, Estienne Coetzee was the second female finisher and 10th overall clocking 18:40, and the third female finisher was Megan Berry who clocked 20:14 finishing 23rd overall.
In addition to retaining her title, Lindsay set a new personal best time, shaving 30 seconds off her 2023 win time.
BHCS Chairman Dr. Ewart Brown commented on Lindsay's victory, "We congratulate Gayle on retaining the first-place adult female title in record time for the third consecutive year. We wish her continued success." Dr. Brown added, "Lamont Marshall continues to excel, and his victory today strengthens his reputation as one of Bermuda's greatest runners. Our best wishes to him for continued success."
Dr. Brown continued, "Bermuda HealthCare Services is committed to supporting sports throughout the community, and we are delighted to note that the number of race participants has increased throughout our three-year sponsorship."
