The 2023 Bermuda Squash Association Club Championships got underway at the BSA Club in Devonshire.
On Day One, four matches needed a fifth set to decide a winner, three of the matches were in the Men's B Division, second seed Jamie Ball defeated Manjit Varwandkar 11-7, 11-13, 11-4, 8-11, 11-1, sixth seed Neil Lupsic defeated Matty Copeland 6-11, 11-3, 11-2, 8-11, 11-3, and seventh seed Brian Rosorea defeated David Soutter 13-11, 11-9, 10-12, 5-11, 12-10.
Derek Theisen defeated Garth Rempel 4-11, 7-11, 11-3, 11-8, 11-7 in Men's Veterans Over 50 action.
Number One seed in the Men’s Open Division Noah Browne defeated Brendon Fourie 11-5, 11-5, 11-6, while Number One seed in the Women’s Open Division Susie Howells defeated eighth seed Deborah Sagurs 11-9, 6-11, 11-2, 11-1.
