The Final of the Bermuda Open Singles was also held at Spanish Point Boat Club, the final featured an all-Spanish Point Boat Club derby featuring John Orr of Spanish Point Boat Club Two & Todd Dziak of Spanish Point Boat Club One.
The match was a race to 4.
The 1st game started very cagily with neither player wanting to make the 1st error, however, it was Orr who prevailed, closing out Dziak on the pink ball.
The 2nd game started in a very similar manner, with lots of safety and balls on the cushion. Once again Orr managed to get the better of Dziak on the black ball to make it 2-0.
Dziak got one back in the 3rd however, taking the blue and pink balls to make the score 2-1 at the mid-session interval.
Things took a turn for the worst again for Dziak on the resumption of play when Orr got off to a flying start, putting what in the end, was an unassailable lead together, Dziak needing snooker at the brown, which he was unable to get, leaving him 3-1 down with just 3 to play.
Not deterred, however, Dziak bounced back in the 5th with a new wind in his sail, overcoming Orr at the blue ball to make it 3-2 with a possible 2 to play.
It was not to be for Dziak though, when Orr overcame an early 20-point deficit to take the 6th game comfortably, claiming his 1st major title with Dziak needing snooker at the green.
Final score, John Orr 4 Todd Dziak 2.
