The Bermuda Women’s team returned to action and the Veterans Team began competing in the CASA Senior Squash Championships in Guyana.
The Women’s team went down 3-0 to the Cayman Islands, Rachel Barnes went down 3 – 0 to Jade Pitcairn 11-9, 11-6, 11-8, then Susie Howells fell 3 – 0 to Eilidh Bridgeman 11-8, 11-9, 11-9 and Jayne Craig went down 3 – 0 to Emma Turnbull 11-9, 11-5, 11-5.
In the Veterans Championships Division Bermuda came from 2 – 0 down to defeat the British Virgin Islands. Defaulting the first game, Bermuda was down 1 – 0, Peter Drury then went down 3 – 0 to Neville Sorrentino 11-4, 11-5, 12-10 as Cayman Islands went ahead 2 – 0.
Bermuda would fight back with Colin Alexander defeating Winston Findley 3 – 0 11-4, 11-6, 11-2, Suzanne Rose and Denise Kyme then both won their games 11-0, 11-0, 11-0 to complete the comeback.
The Veteran team would then take on Jamaica in their second Veterans Team game and defeated them 4 – 0. Drury defeated Stewart Maxwell 11-7, 11-5, 11-5, then Alexander defeated Stanley Douglas Beckford 3 – 1 in their battle 11-5, 5-11, 11-5, 11-5.
Once again Rose and Kyme won their games 11-0, 11-0, 11-0.
