Taylor Carrick recently competed in the 71st Scottish Junior Open Squash Championships at the Edinburgh Sports Club.
Carrick competing in the Boy’s Under 17 Division finished 14th after picking up 2 wins and 2 defeats.
Carrick would begin with a 3-2 win over Daniel O'Sullivan from Scotland. O’Sullivan won the first game 11-6, but Carrick would fightback to win the second game 11-8, Carrick would take a 2-1 lead when he won game three 11-9, but O’Sullivan would draw the game level at 2-2 winning the fourth game 11-3, Carrick would win the match winning the fifth game 11-7.
Carrick would fall 3-0 to the number 2 seed Adam Goad from England 11-7, 11-9, 11-8. Carrick would next fall 3-1 to Harry Jay Barron from Scotland, Barron would take a 2-0 lead after winning the first two games 11-5, 11-6, but Carrick would give himself a chance winning the third game 11-6, but Barron would close out the match winning the fourth game 11-7.
In his final game Carrick defeated Malik Abdul Moiez from Pakistan 3-0, Carrick would win 11-9, 11-6, 11-5.
