Kane Crichlow’s Watford teammate Dom Hutchinson scored one and made another as the Under-23s drew with Cardiff City in a Professional Development League game at the club's training ground.
The forward created the first for the trialist, who was playing as a lone center-forward, after nine minutes and then linked up with the same player again, this time in a role reversal and from the other side, to score himself in first-half injury time. However, each time Cardiff pegged the home side back, first through Ben Margetson after 26 minutes and then 16 minutes from time through Rubin Colwill.
Omer Riza's side had a big chance to win it at the end when Sonny Blu Lo-Everton, on as a sub, played in Crichlow down the right, but his low shot was well saved by George Ratcliffe in the Cardiff goal.
