Trott & West Ham United Fall to Everton

IslandStats.com
Nathan Trott and his West Ham United Under 23 teammates took to the field on a very cold evening for an exciting Premier League 2 game against Everton Under 23’s.

In the 6th minute Everton took the lead, Ellis Simms won the ball on the byline and laid it off for Thierr Small, who smashed in low shot from a tight angle.

Everton double their lead in the 19th minute, when a ball came in from deep, Trott and Simms both challenged for it, when the ball looped into the air, it was the Everton man who manages to control - amidst a sea of bodies - and tuck into the net.

In the 23rd minute Everton went looking for a third, Rhys Hughes had a shot from the corner of the box which Trott did well to palm away, before Josh Okotcha cleaned up and cleared before a blue shirt could pounce on the rebound.

West Ham United were back in the match in the 25th minute, Jamal Baptiste fed Jayden Fevrier on the edge of the area, with the left-back stepping inside his man. His pull-back found Kai Corbett with his back to goal, and the winger sensibly laid the ball off for Keenan Appiah-Forson on the overlap, who smashed home his first goal of the season with a rising finish!

In the 71st minute, Trott produced a good save to beat away a Hughes dipping shot from the edge of the 'box.

In the end it was a frustrating night in the North-West for West Ham U23s, who had plenty of opportunities - and some more than fair shouts for a penalty kick turned down. But Everton take the points on this occasion.
