Jaaziah Van-Lowe and his West Ham United Academy teammates picked up a 2 – 1 win over Holland FC in a pre-season friendly.
Following the match, Van-Lowe said, “Today was yet another learning experience, in the past if I let a ball in I would be mad with myself and it usually affected my performance.
In my pep talk with my coach, he told me that all goalkeepers let in goals. How you allow it to affect you and your performance is what matters.
Today, I hit a ball out and didn't jump up in time to save the rebound ball. Instead of getting upset, I counted to 3 and got hungry for a win all over again.
I'm proud of my teammates as we played an Academy team with players who are 13 and 14... We are 12 and done well.”
