Frazzoni & Saint Rose Ranked Third

IslandStats.com
Eva Frazzoni and her College of Saint Rose Women’s Soccer teammates have been picked third in the Northeast-10 Conference Preseason Poll that was voted upon by the league's 14 head coaches.

Defending Conference Champions Franklin Pierce are the preseason favorite. The Ravens received 160 points and seven first place nods to edge out Southern New Hampshire, which collected 155 points on the strength of five first place votes. Saint Rose captured 142 points and one of the two remaining first place picks. Adelphi and Stonehill round out the top-five with 132 and 114 points respectively.

Saint Rose won seven NE10 Championships within a nine-year span (2007-2011, 2013, 2014) and captured eight straight regular-season titles between 2006 and 2013. A year ago, the Golden Knights (13-5-4/9-3-2 NE10) finished fourth, a mere point in back of third place Stonehill (13-7-0/10-4-0 NE10).

In addition, Saint Rose earned its 14th NCAA Tournament berth within a 17-year span. Saint Rose advanced to the second round where they fell 3-0 at eventual National Champion Bridgeport.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose will begin its 2019 campaign on Thursday, September 5th versus Queens College. Three consecutive home dates follow including the NE10 opener against Saint Anselm on Saturday, September 14th.

College of Saint Rose are only one of three NCAA Division II sides, along with Grand Valley State and West Florida, that have won at least 22 matches on three occasions. They won 24 contests in 2009 and in their 2011 National Championship campaign, and posted 23 victories in 2010. Saint Rose has also recorded 19 consecutive winning seasons, which ties them for the 11th longest streak in Division II history.
