Bermuda 6 Suriname 1

Bermuda will play their third match of the Women’s Under 20 CONCACAF Championships against Suriname at the National Track and Field Center Leonora in Guyana.

Bermuda Starting Line Up: - Zahkari Turner, Koa Goodchild, Jenna Rempel, Zemira Webb, Trinae Edwards, Danni Watson, Emily Cabral, Nia Christopher, Jade Stewart, Adia Gibbons, Ryley Simmons

What a difference a team makes, less than a month ago the same sport had the media running from pillar to post with coverage from every angle, but the same sport by the same country but a different gender and the coverage from some has all but disappeared or appears days later with somewhat of a mention, making one wonder is it the sport that is being covered or the gender?

Bermuda yet again dominated play but lack the finish they needed to control the match total, but on the stroke of half time Nia Christopher found the back of the net to give Bermuda a 1 – 0 lead.

Bermuda would double the lead early in the second half as Ryley Simmons scored, one minute later it would be 3 – 0 as Simmons scored her second goal of the game.

Suriname would pull a goal back in the 60th minute, but Christopher would restore Bermuda’s 3 goal lead one minute later.

Bermuda would score the 6th goal of the game and their 5th of the 86th minute when Simmons completed her hat-trick and then in stoppage time Christopher completed her hat-trick in earning Bermuda the 6 – 1 victory.
