Trott to Be Loaned Out To Gain First-Team Experience

Nathan Trott is expected to leave West Ham United after the Premier League outfit signed goalkeepers David Martin and Roberto.

West Ham United have made young goalkeeper Nathan Trott available for loan, according to London News Online, with AFC Wimbledon hoping to sign the 20-year-old on loan.

News that Trott could be allowed to leave the London Stadium on a temporary basis will hardly come as a surprise after the Hammers sealed the signings of not one, but two experienced shot-stoppers in the last week.

David Martin arrived from Millwall on Monday, following veteran Spaniard Roberto to the club. As a result, this has opened the door for England U20 international Trott to seek a short-term move away from West Ham.

Co-owner David Gold confirmed on Twitter that Trott would be allowed to leave on loan when announcing the deal for Martin, son of club hero Alvin.

And the London News Online claims that AFC Wimbledon would jump at the chance to hand West Hamís first-choice U23 goalkeeper a chance at senior level.

The Dons beat West Ham 4-2 in the FA Cup last season and their Kingsmeadow ground is just 19 miles away from West Hamís London Stadium. Wimbledon narrowly avoided relegation to League Two in May, finishing one place above the drop zone.
