Nathan Trott and his West Ham United Under 23 teammates were on Merseyside for their clash against Liverpool at the Reds' Academy Training Ground.
Trott and West Ham United defeated Liverpool 2 – 1.
West Ham United got on the board as early as the2nd minute when Reece Oxford score, the center-back got up highest from Joe Powell's corner and loops his header into the top corner.
There's a first chance of the afternoon for Liverpool in the 9th minute. A nice ball between the lines is slipped through for Liam Millar, but the forward's low effort is easily blocked by Trott.
In the 17th minute there was another save from Trott and it was a great one, once again it is Millar who is thwarted. The center-forward was getting into the channels and causing problems and after being played in, he's denied by the Hammers' No1.
Trott in the 26th minute caught a corner kick and launchesd a great attack with a long drop kick. It fell for Xande Silva who played in Afolayan, but the winger still had a lot to do and eventually his effort is well blocked.
In the 30th minute Trott was keeping West Ham in this one. Another save was made by the No1's feet, this time Adekanye being denied as he crept round full-back Mason Barrett on the right and shot from a tight angle.
With Liverpool still applying the pressure in the 39th minute Trott was called upon again with yet another great save and probably the best of the lot to that point. Trott dove away to his right to keep out Matty Virtue's effort from close range after Tony Gallacher delivered a dangerous cross.
Fifty minutes in and Trott denied Virtue yet again! Lewis had hung up a cross to the back post and the captain met it with a fierce header, but the keeper was there to make another save.
But three minutes later Liverpool scored one finally found its way past Trott. Virtue was the scorer, banging a second attempt into the top corner after his initial effort was blocked.
With a goal Liverpool went looking for more in the 58th minute a smart save again was made by Trott. Lewis hit a shot from 25 yards with a free-kick but the keeper tips it over, before then saving a header from the resulting corner.
West Ham United went back in front in the 73rd minute when Powell scored. Powell had a lovely curled free-kick, over the wall, and down too low and in the corner for the goalkeeper to get a hand on it.
