Bermudians Eusebio Mills-King (16) and Jervay Laws (14) played in the Roma International Cup Under 17 Division for their school Buckswood School Football Academy located in East Sussex, England.
Four games were played in total and resulted in 2 wins and 2 draws. Along the way Buckswood scored 7 goals and conceded just 3.
The first game was one of the games of the tournament an early goal for Buckswood was enough to edge out Italian side Diavoli Rossi, despite giving away a penalty late on into the game. Buckswood stood firm and beat what were to be the finalist of the tournament. Goal scored by Ned Brooks. A brilliant header from a superb Rhys Daniels delivery.
In the second game against Volpitano, Buckswood School had their work cut out when losing their goalkeeper to a red card and conceding a goal shortly before half time. With 3 minutes to go Suguru levelled the score with a brilliant strike from distance.
The final group game was against bottom of the group and resulted in Buckswood coming out comfortable 4-1 winners. Scorers were Patricio Martinez, Patrico Sallas and Aki scored twice.
After a relaxing day spent in Rome. The Under 16s contested in the Tournament Semi-Final against an Argentinian side. Another late goal from Buckswood put the U16s level and sent the game to penalties.
Unfortunately, the penalty shootout favored the Argentine side and sent them to the final after win 4-2 in the shootout. They then went onto beat Diavoli Rossi 2-0 in the final.
