Bermuda 2 Antigua & Barbuda 3
Bermuda’s Under 20 National Team’s third match of the Qualifying competition for the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Curacao saw them take to the field against Antigua & Barbuda.
Bermuda Starting Line-up: - Jahquil Hill, Zenawi Bowen, Rai Sampson, David Jones, Tevahn Tyrell, Kacy Butterfield, Osagi Bascome, Knory Scott, Paul Douglas, Mazhye Burchall, Diondre Dowling
Bermuda found themselves down 1 - 0 in the first minute after some miscommunication at the back, nine minutes later Bermuda was down 2 - 0. The Bermuda team kept the fight going but five minutes before the halftime break Antigua & Barbuda went up 3 - 0.
Coach Kyle Lightbourne gave the team a pep talk during the break and seven minutes into the half Mazhye Burchall pulled Bermuda within two when he found the back of the next.
The match became even harder two minutes later when Knory Scott received his marching orders, three minutes later though both teams were down to ten men with a Antigua & Barbuda player shown the red card.
Bermuda made their first change in the 63rd minute with Jaz Ratteray-Smith coming in for Zenawi Bowen, twenty minutes later Burchall struck again to pull Bermuda within one, thus making the final four minutes frantic for Antigua & Barbuda as they managed to hang on for the 3 - 2 win.
Although Bermuda went down they have advanced to the Semi-Finals on goal difference after St Kitt's defeated the host Curacao 3 - 1.
