Bermuda will have to wait until the end of the match between Bahamas and Bonaire to confirm if they clinched a berth in the 2023 CONCACAF Men’s Under-17 Championship after falling 3 – 2 to Guyana in CMU17 Qualifying action at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
The defeat saw Bermuda still on the top of Group A and as long as Bonaire does not win by more than 18 goals, Bermuda will have earned themselves a place in next year’s Championship.

Guyana jumped out to a 2-0 first-half lead thanks to goals from Shemaiah Samuels in the 25th minute, and Christopher Whitter in the 34th minute, those were the first two goals Bermuda conceded in the tournament, but Bermuda would answer back with a score shortly before halftime, as Daion Swan-Desilva found the back of the net in the 38th minute to make it 2 - 1 at the break.
Bermuda stayed on the hunt for an equalizer, but instead, Guyana was next to score, as Whitter scored his second of the day in the 69th minute to give Guyana a 3 - 1 lead.
Bermuda would pull a goal back in the 80th minute from Hayden Dill who converted from the penalty spot to make it a 3 - 2 affair going into the final minutes, but Guyana would hold on for the victory.
