Both nations were searching for a win in their League B debut after relegation in the previous CNL from League A. Haiti was searching for their first CNL victory and their eagerness to score in the first half showed as they generated the most opportunities, despite their role as the visitors.
Carnejy Antoine kicked off the attacking attempts for Haiti with a shot on goal in the seventh minute, followed by Christiano Francois having a shot in the 13th.
The home side answered with a chance from Nahki Wells in the 15th minute.
Antoine would try again, this time inside the box, just a minute later, while Kole Hall would take the second attempt for the hosts in the 22nd minute.
From there, Haiti would have the rest of the strikes in the opening period, but despite posting seven shots in the first half, Les Grenadiers were kept scoreless. The closest chance came in the 35th minute, but Antoine’s attempt was kept out by the woodwork.
Following the halftime break, Bermuda nearly had the opening goal, only to see Haiti goalkeeper Alexandre Pierre come up with a big stop to deny Hall.
Haiti captain Ricardo Ade was just as influential by clearing the rebound opportunity to keep things even.
Bermuda goalkeeper Dale Eve was also active under the posts keeping things scoreless with a cool save in the 69th minute.
Eve was then influential in the dying moments by making another save to deny Ade inside the box in the 86th minute and then another in the 89th minute to maintain the clean sheet.
