Bermuda Fall in U17 Women's Championship Opener

The 2022 CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship in the Dominican Republic are underway, Bermuda took to the field against Jamaica in their first match of the tournament.

Bermuda Starting Line-Up: - Samantha Davies, Samara Darrell, Sarai Richardson, Jahni Simmons, Zorena Anderson, Robin-Valana Pearman (Sanaa Simmons 59th), K Xiyae Gibbons, Katelyn Medeiros, Camryn Lines, Azari Easton (Ramiah Brangman 59th), Ashley Dasilva (Jahde Simmons 71st) - Jamaica Starting Line-Up - Liya Brooks (Dreanna Thaw), Tyesha Nelson (Gabrielle Bryan 74th), Dannique Wilson, Janiel Mignott, Andrene Smith, Akelia Johnson (Natoya Atkinson 64th), Shaneil Buckley, Avery Johnson (Kerrisan Lawrence 80th), Destiny Powell, Tiny Seaton, Maya Raghunandanan (Fredricka Finnikin 74th)

Jamaica defeated Bermuda 7 – 0, Jamaica took the lead in the 8th minute when Maya Raghunandanan scored, and the lead was doubled in the 12th minute when Avery Johnson found the back of the net. It was 3 – 0 four minutes later when Tiny Seaton scored, Jamaica would take that three-goal lead to the break.

Two minutes into the second half Jamaica went ahead 4 – 0 when Tyesha Nelson, Raghunandan scored her second goal of the game in the 65th minute to extend the Jamaica lead to 5 – 0, and then in the 78th minute Shaneil Buckley made it 6 – 0 to Jamaica. A seventh goal was added in the 83rd minute when Natoya Atkinson scored.
