Why Write About Something You Heard and Not Saw?

IslandStats.com
A third person from the daily has written a story regarding the incident that took place on Saturday night at the Devonshire Recreation Club.

If one reads the actual match report from the person who covered the game, it mentioned nothing, absolutely nothing about the incident after the match. Read for yourself:

However, three other individuals who were neither in attendance, nor witnessed the incident, have all chimed in with their version of what they heard.

If this matter were to go before courts, I would hope the three people who have written stories on the incident could attend and testify what they have written is factual! Oh yeah, they can’t, because they went on hearsay to influence their readers.

In every story that the people who were not in attendance have written, it only mentions Jamaican Referee, Steffon Dewar, was subjected to abuse from Cougars’ players and fans as he made his way off the field after the final whistle, when in fact, the entire team of officials were assaulted. Maybe, they should have asked the reporter was at the field at the time of the incident to write the follow-ups!

Maybe a PATI Request should be made, asking for the Daily to identify which writer wrote which story and did they witness what transpired after the final whistle.
