Bermuda defeat Cayman Islands in World Cup Qualifier

The Bermuda Women’s National team looked to get their bid for Women’s World Cup in Australia & New Zealand on track when they host the Cayman Islands at the IMG Academy Stadium. Bermuda would come away with a 6 – 0 win.

Bermuda made five changes to the starting line-up for this match.

Bermuda took the lead in the 7th minute when Nesbeth had a free-kick from some 35 yards out beat the Cayman Islands goalkeeper. Christopher doubled the Bermuda lead in the 25th minute, Christopher was on the receiving end of a Nesbeth through ball and calmly placed the ball into the back of the net. In the 39th minute Christopher made it 3 – 0, a ball from Goodchild, found Rempel down the right and her one-time cross was met by Christopher who made no mistake.

In the 54th minute, Christopher made it 4 – 0 completing her hat-trick, Frazzoni did some good work on the right side, her ball sent Christopher away, she beat the goalkeeper to the ball and would then score into an empty net. In the 66th minute, Dill scored from some 20 yards out blasting an unstoppable shot to make it 5 – 0. In stoppage time Nesbeth would score her second of the game to make the final score Bermuda 6 Cayman Islands 0.
