Canada 5 Bermuda 1

Bermuda’s CONCACAF World Cup Group B Division opener will take place in Florida, with both teams announcing their starting-line-ups.

Canada Starting Line-Up: Atiba Hutchinson, Milan Borjan, Samuel Adekugbe (David Woterspoon), Kamal Miller, Steven Vitoria, Stephen Eustaquio (Teo Corbeanu), Cyle Larin, Junior Hoilett (Samuel Piette), Lucas Cavallini (Liam Millar), Alphonso Davies, Richie Laryea (Alistair Johnston) - Bermuda Starting Line-up: Dale Eve, Eusebio Blankendal, Dante Leverock (Jomei Bean-Lindo), Jaylon Bather, Calon Minors, Roger, Lejuan Simmons (Knory Scott), Kane Crichlow, Chae Brangman, Cecoy Robinson (London Steede-Jackson), Jordan Outerbridge (Jahkari Furbert)

Bermuda’s start to the game was not the best as goalkeeper Dale Eve was in a collision and had to be attended to by the physio with a bloody nose.
Cyle Larin gave Canada a 1 – 0 lead in the 19th minute, a cross from a free-kick saw Larin head past Dale Eve to his right.

The same player would find the back of the net eight minutes later to double the score. Larin was able to slot home a right-footed shot through a maze of Bermuda players.

Canada would take that two-goal lead to the break.

Canada would make it 3 – 0 in the 53rd minute when Richie Laryea scored, the striker beat the offside trap and was able to beat Eve to his left.

Ten minutes later Bermuda was on the board as Kane Crichlow scored on his debut. A cross from Lejuan Simmons saw the Canada goalkeeper mishandle the ball and Crichlow was on hand to put the ball into the back of the net.

In the 69th minute Larin would complete his hat-trick, he was on hand to receive a ball pulled back to score from close range to make it 4 – 1, and then in the 81st minute, substitute Theo Corbeanu would benefit from a cross to score from close range.

The final score ended the same as Bermuda started their CONCACAF Nations League Campaign back in 2019, falling 5 – 1 to Mexico.
