Daniel Phillips continued playing in his first Under 16 tournament as he took to the courts in Spain to compete in the Guillermo Vilas Tennis Academy Trophy.
Phillips playing in the Boys Singles 16 Main Draw took on Kane Bonsach Ganley from Spain.
The pair battled in a three setter that saw Phillips advance.
Phillips won the First Set 6-2, but Ganley would win the Second Set 6-2. Phillips would close out the match winning the Third and Final Set 6-1.
Phillips would then team up with Uwe Diehl from Belgium in the Boy’s Doubles 16 Main Draw and they would take on the tournament’s number 4 seeds Cesar Barranquero and Lluc Mir Anglada from Spain.
Phillips and Diehl would fall in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.
