Bermuda 2 Nicaragua 0 – BERMUDA HAVE WON THEIR FIRST EVER GOLD CUP MATCH

Bermuda make three changes to the starting lineup for this Third and Final game of the CONCACAF Gold Cup match at the Red Bull Stadium. Coming in are Lejuan Simmons, Marco Warren and Calon Minors replacing Reggie Lambe, Jalen Harvey and Milan Butterfield.
Bermuda had the first shot that saw Clemons’ right footed shot go out off the upright in the 3rd minute. After Nicaragua had a corner Bermuda raced the opposite way and Wells had shot go wide and then in the 9th minute Simmons had a header go wide. Bermuda continue to pile on the pressure as Simmons has a shot go just over in the 13th minute.
In the 17th minute Wells beat the offside trap, but his shot was cleared off the line. Nicaragua resorted to long range shots. Simmons was issued a yellow card in the 24th minute for a sliding tackle.
Bermdua earned a corner in the 30th minute and Bascome’s cross found Warren who’s shot was deflected for another corner. Warren flashes a shot just wide in the 32nd minute as Bermuda continue to pile on the pressure.
In the 40th minute Nicaragua came close to scoring the game’s first goal, but two attempts could not find the target.
At the half the score remains 0 – 0.
Nicaragua have the first shot of the second half that saw Eve do well to make the save. Bermuda was forced to make a substitution after Minors received a clash of heads on the 53rd minute and was replaced by Jalen Harvey.
Eve got down well to a shot from Galeano in the 55th minute.
Bermuda erupt as Simmons from a great ball from Bascome scored to give Bermuda the lead in the 61st minute.
Bermuda doubled the lead in the 71st minute when Wells headed in from a Simmons cross. Cecoy Robinson came on replacing Simmons in the 74th minute and with his first touch the keeper did well to deny him.
