Bermuda Go Down to Costa Rica in Gold Cup Game 2

Bermuda Starting Lineup: Dale Eve, Jalen Harvey, Jaylon Bather, Milan Buterfield, Donte Brangman, Zeiko Lewis (Justin Donawa 72nd), Willie Clemons (Tre Ming 72nd), Osagi Bascome (Jonte Smith 79th), Dante Leverock, Reggie Thompson-Lambe, Nahki Wells - Costa Rica Starting Lineup: Leonel Moreira, Celso Borges, Oscar Duarte, Bryan Oviedo, Mayron George, Joel Campbell (Christian Bolanos 70th), Allan Cruz, Jonathan McDonald (Brian Ruiz 45th), Christian Gamboa, Kendall Waston, Elias Aguilar (Ronald Matarrita 72nd)

Bermuda make two changes to the starting line up with Callon Minors and Lejuan Simmons out, with Milan Butterfield and Jalen Harvey coming in.

Costa Rica kicked the match off, Wells had the first shot of the game in the second minute, but it went wide after being put through by Clemons. In the 4th minute Bermuda won the games first corner, Wells had the ball in the net in the 5th minute, but he was ruled off side. In the 8th minute Lambe had a cross that went straight into the goalkeepers arms.

In the 13th minute Cruz from Costa Rica was shown a yellow card after a foul on Clemons. Bermuda came within inches of taking the lead in the 15th minute when a free kick from Leverock was headed into the path of Lambe who cross was met by Clemons who’s shot went inches wide.

Eve was called upon a minute later to save a deflected shot from going in the net, pushing it out for a corner. 19 minutes in and Clemons close range shot was saved by Moreira.

In the 26th minute Cruz rose high to a cross only to see Eve dive to his left and make the save, Bather received the yellow card for an earlier tackle.

In the 29th minute Costa Rica took the lead a header from a corner was saved by Eve, but Mayron George followed up and made no mistake. In the 34th minute Eve was called upon yet again to deny a powerful shot this time from Borges.

In the 39th minute Duarte flashed a header just wide from a corner as Costa Rica looked to take control of the match. Eve had to be at his best to deny Borges right footed free kick from some 20 yards out in the 41st minute.

Wells blasted a shot in the 43rd minute wide of the target after some good work between Clemons and Lewis.

The referee calls and end to the half with Costa Rica leading 1 – 0.

Costa Rica doubled the lead in the 54th minute when a Aguilar right footed shot beat Eve to his left from an angle.

Brangman had a drive in the 57th minute saved by the Costa Rican goalkeeper, from the corner Harvey was brought down in the box resulting in a penalty and Wells stepped up and scored in the 58th minute.

In the 63rd minute Clemons wasted a good chance to level the score when he failed to shoot after Wells found him in the box.

In the 67th minute Wells had a flick from a corner saved by Moreira. Ruiz was issued a yellow card for diving in the box in the 77th minute. In the 83rd minute Jonte Smith let loose a shot from outside the box that went wide.

Ming received a yellow card in the 85th minute. In the 88th minute Smith came close to getting the equalizer but his shot went just wide.
