Bermuda's Women Advance in CONCACAF Qualifiers

Bermuda went into their final game of the Women’s CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers level on points with host Guyana in Group E, but are behind on goal difference. Bermuda came away with a 1 – 0 win, while Guyana drew 0 – 0 with Barbados sending Bermuda through to the next Round.

Bermuda Starting Line-up: Micah Pond, Victoria Davis, Marley Christian, K’shaela Burch-Waldron, Akeyla Furbert, Deshae Darrell, Eva Frazzoni, Symira Lowe-Darrell, Teyah Lindo, Jade Steede-Hill, Keunna Dill - Substitutes: Chelsea Harvey, Ember Butterfield, Ranyi Maybury, Zakiyah Durham, Taznae Fubler, , Precious Smith, Jade Stewart, Khyla Brangman

The Bermuda team have worked hard in the first half, but only have one goal to show for it, they have camped out in the Suriname half of the field.

Bermuda had a chance to go in front early in the match when they was awarded a penalty, but it was saved and the rebound was missed.

Bermuda had a goalmouth scramble shot hit the crossbar, which was followed by a one on one with the goalkeeper, but the shot went just wide.

Bermuda’s go ahead goal came in the 40th minute when Akeyla Furbert scored, Bermuda would take that 1 – 0 lead to the break.

The second half was much like the first with Bermuda creating several chances, but were not able to convert them.
