At the 2016 SIAC Cross Country Championship, Morehouse's Trey Simons ran like people were chasing him.
The truth is that 74 people were chasing him but in the end, no one caught Simons who finished first and led Morehouse to yet another SIAC championship.
All seven Morehouse runners placed in the top 20, including four in the top 10.
Simons was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Runner of the Year.
Head Coach Willie H. Hill was named the SIAC Cross Country Coach of the Year.
Simons, a junior, covered the 8K course at Winthrop University, in 25:32.13.
Teammate Kiplimo grabbed fourth place, overall, and second for the Maroon Tigers who captured their 21th SIAC title in 23 years. Kiplimo crossed the finish line in 27:40.14.
Jared Allen took third for the Tigers, and fifth overall, in a time 28:05.24.
Christian Dixon ran the course in 28:34.61, and finished 9th overall. He was followed closely by teammate Jeremmy Ronoh, who clocked in at 28:56.30, and rounded out the Morehouse scoring.
Blake Benyard, in a time of 30:09.85, and Jovan Corbitt 30:33.67, also competed for the 'House.
